Looking forward to The Bad Batch

Spoilers ahead...

Coming up on May 4th for Disney+ is The Bad Batch. This is an extension to the existing Clone Wars series, specifically following a group of clones introduced in the final season.

I’m not going to spoil things if you haven’t seen the final season yet (if you haven't stop reading and start watching!), but just to say that The Bad Batch are a group of clones with desirable mutations that give each a special skill.

I think that the most interesting part of the series is that it comes after the fall of the Jedi and the end of the Clone Wars, which means it will hopefully cover both what happens to the elite force after the clones are no longer needed and how they transition from Clone to Stormtrooper.

It's always fascinated me as to why the empire dropped the clone program after it being used as a tool so successfully by The Emperor playing each side off each other throughout the Clone Wars era.

Watching the trailer it also includes Tarkin, who has already been seen in several clone wars episodes but now playing more of a key role within the Empire. We know where he ends up but at this time he is still working his way up the chain and appears to be leading the clones at this point in some fashion.

We also see Fennec Stand (from The Mandalorian) who as a bounty hunter I can only assume is tracking The Bad Batch for the empire or the package (a younger clone?) that they appear to be transporting with them.

And lastly an appearance from my favourite clone - Captain Rex!

Definitely lots to think about before May 4th.

If The Mandalorian or Clone wars is something to go off then this content should both be engaging and look fantastic.
